The farm is owned by Scottish Sea Farms, who bought it over from Orkney Sea Farms in 2007. The fish farmed here are Atlantic Salmon that are then supplied to major UK retailers and export customers alike. The precise location of the farm has a strong tidal flow, which can create challenging working conditions but also the perfect environment for the fish to grow. The farm provides local employment for 13 people, each working a two-week shift pattern.
