You might be lucky enough to see minke whales here, even the occasional humpback whale has been spotted, as well as Risso’s dolphin and Orca. Minke whales are the smallest baleen whale seen in UK waters. Unusually, they have not one but two blow holes. Their typical dive sequence is five to eight blows less than a minute apart, before a deep dive which lasts 3-8 minutes. They eat krill and fish by sieving it from the water with their baleen plates.
